I don't know why Obama has such a difficult time with obvious connections. But the whole thing about the gas tax holiday is about JOBS. He should be out on the streets saying hell no we aren't going to cut over hundreds of thousands of jobs and give the oil companies more profit margin with this stupid gas tax holiday.
Do Clinton and McCain think because the Federal gov't stops charging the 18.5 measley cents that the oil companies are going to subtract it from their prices?
They must think we are idiots.
The oil companies are raking in $10,000,000 in oil revenue an hour fromn one report I saw. And Clinton hands them more money?
Not a chance you're going to save ANY money.
Besides the stupid factor, we ought to be able to raise gas taxes in cities across the country so we can fund transit and green fuels.
I would like to see a truck and inefficient car buy back program funded by tax credits.
It would take old cars and trucks off the road and spark growth in sales in cars that are getting 30-40-50 mpg.
We ought to have a Green Test City program where a city like Seattle says -- OK-- by 2010 we're going to BAN gasoline driven vehicles in town.
Then we can test the merits of making the switch to fresh air and water -- by products of living in a greener world with transport systems exhaust being water and fresh air.
Why hasn't this been tried already? Where the hell is George Jetson?

Moss Makes a No-Care Lawn
Moss can be a great sponge for gardens-- and more of it the better for some parts of the country.
Thanks to gardeners like David Brenner, master gardeners and landscape designers from all over the country are getting their courage up and change the garden lawn game plan away from grass.
Here in the Northwest we are starting work on a new Good Nature poster to celebrate rain gardens-- native plants can help soak up storm water and encourage biodiversity in our over paved urban areas.
The future of green living should encourage more moss, rain gardens, eco roofs, semi permeable pavers, and backyard habitat reconnecting neighborhoods to the natural world.
Of course -- this is only a dream right now. The City of Seattle promotes tree planting for climate change but lets the chain saws rip down old tree after old tree. So now we have density -- a good-- killing off great trees -- another social good.
Bad.
Basta.

Another rate cut -- wow! that means we are going to be in deep sh*t years from now. Warren Buffet wasn't kidding when he forecast a long and deep "recession".
Two percent means things are worse than I imagined. And inflation is under reported. Something is fishy when the official report says 4% inflation when you and I see food and fuel prices taking more than ever.
How much more are we supposed to take befrore we say basta?
Enough! The last eight years weren't great -- and they were supposed to be.
I can't wait for a recession. to settle in.
On the other hand, why aren't we looking at changing the whole damn thing. Clearly the current economic syatem is not working for a lot of people.
Time of a change-- and movement to take us. What is going to really change if we don't get together after the election and insist on being heard?
Lots of work to do before we're dead.
